Body and Soul is a live album by American saxophonist Dexter Gordon recorded at the Jazzhus Montmartre in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1967 and released in 1988 with five tracks as listed below. The album had first been released on the Black Lion label in 1974 as Blues Walk! The Montmatre Collection Vol. II with only four tracks (. without "Come Rain or Come Shine").

Dexter Gordon was one of the top ballad players of the '60s. Having already made his name in the bebop era and as an expatriate in Europe, Gordon returned to the States to record a series of fine Blue Note discs during the first half of the decade. Gordon delivers his almost sleepy and smoke-filled solos with real grace. This album is soulful blues, late night kinda jazz. It is one of the albums I always recommend to people, right along with Miles Davis "Kind of Blue" and "Round About Midnight". Dexter Gordon is one of those jazz players that moved to Paris and for years lived as an ex-pat, committing his life to his music. You hear that commitment in his playing, it is some of the best soulful blues.
