It became the first single Ozzy Osbourne released after leaving Black Sabbath in 1978. 1 Story behind the song. The drum part for the album version of "Crazy Train" was performed by Lee Kerslake. There's a funny story about the ending of the song. Ozzy once asked a studio engineer what he had for breakfast, and this engineer answered "An Egg" through an oscillator. Album version of the song. How do you play that really fast, ascending lick during the second chorus? That riff is sort of a "fake"; I don't even do that lick live, because it sometimes sounds really sloppy.
