Posh is a 1980 album released by R&B singer Patrice Rushen, her third album for Elektra Records and sixth album overall. The album was recently re-released on Wounded Bird Records, as were several other Rushen albums from the time. Following the Pizzazz album, Posh was the continuation of a string of R&B/pop albums that would establish Rushen as an R&B singer.

Posh ‎(CD, Album, RE). Wounded Bird Records. For me the most memorable tune from this album was the slow and thoughtful one, The Dream. It was receiving airplay as late as 1984 on smooth/fusion jazz radio; notably WNSB in Norfolk. Reply Notify me 1 Helpful.

Now is the eighth studio album by American singer-songwriter and pianist Patrice Rushen. Now was her third highest charting album, peaking at number seven on the jazz albums chart, number four on the R&B albums chart and number forty on the Pop albums chart. It features the hit singles "Feels So Real (Won't Let Go)" and "Get Off (You Fascinate Me)," which are among Rushen's best known in the R&B genre. Rushen's next album would be Watch Out.

Patrice Rushen entered the 1980s on a high note with Posh, her third album for Elektra and sixth album overall. By that time, it seemed unlikely that Rushen would become a full-time jazz instrumentalist again - she was enjoying too much success as an R&B/pop singer. And sure enough, it wasn't until 1997's Signature on Discovery that she recorded another instrumental album under her own name. When Posh came out in 1980, jazz's loss appeared to be R&B's gain.

Other Albums by Patrice Rushen. Piano, Bass and Drums. Forget Me Nots & Other Hits. Watch Out! Patrice Rushen. Straight From The Heart. Shout It Out. Patrice Rushen.

Patrice Rushen was an R&B-jazz gwriter who in the 70's and 80's had numerous albums make the Billboard charts. The majority of her work originally came out on Elektra Records but has never been issued on CD anywhere in the world until. It provides an excellent close to the album and start to the 80's. Unfortunately afterwards Patrice's work would not be as cohesive as "Patrice, Pizzazz" and "Posh". She will go on to have bigger hits, most notably "Forget me Nots and "You remind Me' from the following album "Straight from the heart" but it is also at that point her records will decidely become more commercial and less passionate - signifying the shallowness of the 80's and the lack lustre 90's.
