The Original Surfaris were a surf music American band of the early 1960s. In 1960, three young friends, Al Valdez at the piano, Mike Biondo on drums, and Richard Lippy played at the 8th grade graduation dance of St. Mary's Elementary School in Fullerton, California. In the summer of the same year, Valdez, Biondo, guitarist Bobby Esco, and sax player Bob Bernard formed The Vogues and started playing at school assemblies.

Exclusively for Prime members. Sample this album Artist (Sample). The accompanying album, scheduled for release in 1963, was scrapped and hasn't seen the light of day until this reissue. Bombora" is a rip-roaring instrumental, with the heavy guitar sound being very reminiscent of Dick Dale. The sax and piano parts greatly enhance the song and help to distinguish it from the guitar groups. To further confuse matters, the Original Surfaris included a song called "Wipeout" on this album. It is NOT the familiar hit song mentioned earlier. It's a good song but suffers by comparison to its classic counterpart.

Originally slated to be released in 1963, this album was withdrawn due to litigation over the use of The Surfaris name, and retrieved from the vaults in the mid-'90s.
