Description

Diamonds & Rust is a 1975 album by Joan Baez

Now you're telling me you're not nostalgic then give me another word for it you who are so good with words and at keeping things vague because I need some.

Diamonds & Rust" is a song written, composed, and performed by Joan Baez. It was written in November 1974 and released in 1975. Baez has stated that the lyrics refer to her relationship with Bob Dylan.

Album Diamonds & Rust. Diamonds and Rust Lyrics. Well I'll be damned Here comes your ghost again But that's not unusual It's just that the moon is full And you happened to call And here I sit Hand on the telephone Hearing a voice I'd known A couple of light years ago Heading straight for a fall.

Diamonds & Rust Tracklist. 1.

In this song, Joan Baez is singing to her former lover Bob Dylan, fondly reminiscing about their 1960s affair. Released as a single, this track became only her second top 40 hit in the States, and her biggest self-composed hit (her other hit came in 1971 with "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down. Baez said that this gave her inspiration to write "Diamonds & Rust," and that she lied to Dylan, telling him it was about David Harris, to whom she was married from 1968-1973. Bob Dylan rarely reveals much about his songs, but his track "Queen Jane Approximately" is most likely his take on his relationship with Baez. Blackmore's Night covered this song for their 2003 album Ghost of a Rose. More songs from Joan Baez. More songs that are autobiographical. More songs with jewelry or precious stones in the title.

Diamonds & Rust is a 1975 album by Joan Baez. Baez is often regarded as an interpreter of other people's work, and on this album she covered songs written or played by Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, The Allman Brothers, and Jackson Browne The title track was covered by British heavy metal band Judas Priest on their 1977 album Sin After Sin, and has since been one of their staples in live performance

Diamonds & Rust" is a 1975 song written and performed by Joan Baez. In the song, Baez recounts an out-of-the-blue phone call from an old lover, which sends her a decade back in time to a seedy hotel in Greenwich Village. The song, which was a top-forty hit for Baez on the .

My mother had one of her LPalbums that she bought in the States in the ’60s. I played it all the time when I was a little girl. I couldn’t contain my smile as I beheld the ripped and faded album cover again. It is said that this song, Diamonds and Rust, is about her relationship with Bob Dylan. I didn’t know that they were an item before. Where in the world have I been? Anyway, I read somewhere that theirs was a passionate and turbulent love affair that ended awfully. She composed this song after she got a surprise call from him.
