A Head Full of Dreams is the seventh studio album by the British rock band Coldplay. It was released on 4 December 2015, by Parlophone in the United Kingdom, and by Atlantic Records in the United States. Coldplay recorded the album from late 2014 to mid 2015, right after the completion of their previous album Ghost Stories, with a markedly different style and sound from its predecessors.

A Head Full Of Dreams is the widescreen follow-up to 2014’s fragile and lovelorn Ghost Stories, Coldplay’s sixth consecutive worldwide chart topper, award winner and multi-million seller. The band chose not to tour Ghost Stories and headed straight back into the studio to record A Head Full Of Dreams. Revitalised, they’ve made an album that’s bursting with energy, colour and big, life-affirming moments such as the deliciously ebullient first single Adventure Of A Lifetime and the rocket-powered Hymn For The Weekend. Coldplay have never enjoyed making a record more than this one. Nor have they.

A Head Full of Dreams is Coldplay's seventh studio album, released on December 4, 2015 on the Parlophone label. The 11-track album (with an additional hidden track called "X Marks The Spot") was recorded in LA and London, and was produced by Stargate and Rik Simpson. It features contributions from Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher, Tove Lo and Merry Clayton. Lead singer, Chris Martin, explained that as the band didn't tour with the previous album (Ghost Stories) they were able to start work quickly on their 7th album Head Full of Dreams

A Head Full of Dreams is Coldplay’s chance to reassert the eager-to-please exuberance that Ghost Stories deliberately downplayed and prove that Adele isn’t the only artist who can mobilize a monoculture in 2015. On the very first song on their very first album, Coldplay introduced themselves with a heartfelt declaration: "We live in a beautiful world. Fifteen years and some 80 million albums sold later, the British quartet haven’t elaborated on that philosophy-they’ve just amplified it. Where massive success has a tendency to make bands more jaded and aloof, Coldplay only seem more.

Album · 2015 · 11 Songs. There’s a blissful lack of restraint to the multilayered neon pop of Coldplay’s seventh album. The carnival kicks off within 20 seconds of the opening track and allows only the most fleeting of (Barack Obama-narrated) sit-downs as the extent of their ambition is joyously unfurled.
