Should have been a single here. Its top quality RnB/Soul and its vocally his best song on the album. Overall Its just Alexander O'Neal doing his Thang in a way he can only do. Yes Luther is good and has had his hits. But Love Soul is Alex's department.

Alexander O'Neal (born November 14, 1953, in Natchez, Mississippi), was a member of The Time when the group first formed in 1980. However, he was dropped immediately from the group, supposedly for seeming "too black". Three years later, he was able to get a record deal with Clearance Avant's Tabu Records As his vocals range in the same strength as Otis Redding's, O'Neal sings in the retro-style of soul when it comes to doing it in both the dance-pop numbers and modern, urban ballads.

Alexander O'Neal was among the most exciting male R&B singers of the mid-to-late 1980s, but by the mid-1990s, his popularity had decreased considerably. The late 1990s found O'Neal recording for Ichiban, and he was no longer working with the hit ng team of Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. Produced by Billy Osbourne, Nick Mundy and the Kazir/B-Cube duo (among others), Lovers Again isn't as strong as his 1980s work with Jam/Lewis, but isn't a bad album either
