La Düsseldorf is the first album of the band La Düsseldorf. Striking up a stylistic compromise with Michael Rother, the other half of Neu!, Klaus Dinger had recruited his brother Thomas and friend Hans Lampe to play on side two of Neu! '75, taking the band in a more rocking direction than the ambient-inclined Rother cared for. With the split up of Neu! after Neu! '75's release, the remaining members recorded this LP with Neu!/Kraftwerk producer Conny Plank.

In late 1994 Dinger was contacted by a group of young Düsseldorf musicians who had recently formed Kreidler and released their debut album "Riva". Dinger jammed with the band twice in his Düsseldorf studios and was pleased with the result (although these sessions were not recorded). In 1995 he travelled to Berlin to sit-in on sessions for Kreidler's second album "Weekend", and quickly identified keyboardist Andreas Reihse as a future collaborator
