Description

Cee Lo's third full-length is easily his most consistent and impressively produced. With an orchestra worth of instrumentation, Green chases after the classic soul sounds of Marvin Gaye and Curtis Mayfield. And most of the time, he catches them

The Lady Killer is the third studio album by American singer CeeLo Green. It was released November 5, 2010, by Elektra Records. Production for the album was handled by Salaam Remi, Element, The Smeezingtons, Fraser T Smith, Paul Epworth, and Jack Splash. The album debuted at number nine on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 41,000 copies in its first week. It achieved respectable chart success elsewhere and produced three singles, including the international hit "Fuck You".

Cee Lo Green is best known as the dulcet tones of Gnarls Barkley, the duo he fronts with producer Danger Mouse. He has just released his third solo album, 'Lady Killer'. Earlier this year one of the tracks from the album ’Fuck U’ became a huge viral hit and later scored Cee Lo his first UK number 1. Hailing from Atlanta, pre-Gnarls Barkley, he was a member of southern hip hop act Goodie Mob. He chatted to Dazed Digital about who his favourite lady killer is, and how he took on the mind frame of a contract killer when creating the album. DD: I guess the most famous British lady killer would be James Bond. The intro to the album is even a bit reminiscent of a James Bond soundtrack. Cee Lo Green: Who's the real James Bond? Roger Moore, Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig? Who's the real one? James Bond is an enigma.

The Lady Killer," Cee Lo Green's ultra-cool persona, is the latest alter ego in a career of many distinct characters and sounds. Green's soul-drenched new album, "The Lady Killer," is a far cry from the Southern hip-hop of Goodie Mob that launched Green's career in the mid-'90s, or the off-kilter pop of Gnarls Barkley that topped the charts in 2006

Not until recently has Cee-Lo Green been regarded as a rightfully recognizable singer. Four years ago he achieved success forming Gnarls Barkley along with producer Danger Mouse when their groundbreaking urban pop album "St. Elsewhere" was released. And it certainly is not. Although infectiously energetic funk and skillfully crafted, often politically-charged hip-hop deliveries are long gone, "The Lady Killer" works as a legitimately fun pop album that effectively showcases the most mainstream-oriented Cee-Lo's work to date. From the musical standpoint, the record can be described as an adventurous foray into retro-soul and Motown years paired with elaborately orchestrated passages that tend to resemble imaginary Bond theme songs

With so much chaos, we should all gladly welcome the return of Cee-Lo Green. The alternative hip-hopper and Goodie Mob/Gnarls Barkley member, however, has all but left the rap game aside for this, LP No. 3. From producers like Fraser T. Smith (who has worked with everyone from Keane to Kylie Minogue) to cameos from Phillip Bailey (of Earth, Wind & Fire) and Lauren Bennett, it’s clear that the magic of The Lady Killer, that. The aforementioned character that is The Lady Killer is truly a sight to behold. Throughout the album, the lyrical content is full of references to being alone and feeling brokenhearted thanks to the whims of a devil woman he somehow still worships.

Features Song Lyrics for Cee Lo Green's The Lady Killer album. Old Fashioned Lyrics. 12. The Lady Killer Theme (Outro) Lyrics. Cee Lo Green Lyrics provided by SongLyrics.

Cee-Lo's already had a number one hit with the single "Forget You" and has spent the last three years recording his latest solo album "Lady Killer". He tells BBC Breakfast about his inspiration for writing the songs and how he feels he's blessed with his voice.
