Jimmy Nied pitched it to some of his friends who work each year on the Groundhog Day stage show, and on February 2, 2014, I performed it live on Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Then: it was Memorial Day Weekend 2008. Several of the (then) members my band, the Parklane Drifters, were staying overnight at the home of bassist Candy Mountain. Three-and-a-half years later it was prominently featured on my TV show, Live From Nied’s Hotel, as a duet with Molly Alphabet. That is the version that appears today on this B-side.

The Nied’s Hotel Band, voted Pittsburgh’s Best Bar Band in the 2016 Pittsburgh Magazine Readers Poll, is a powerhouse recording and performing rock-n-roll and R&B group from Pittsburgh, PA. (USA). NHB delivers the hardworking, blue collar, muscle that has made Pittsburgh a legendary rock-n-roll city. Their newest album, recorded from the legendary Bitterend in NYC, proves this point loud and clear ! Visit the music section in this site to listen and download all of the NHB recordings ! NHB STAFF.

The Nied’s Hotel Band is a powerhouse recording and performing rock-n-roll band from Pittsburgh, PA. The band includes some of the best-known and respected players in the region, including singer John Vento (who is, perhaps, the hardest-working front man around), guitarists Tim Hadley and Jim McCullough, plus keyboardist Fred Delu and sax man Ed Jonnet, who last joined forces in the 70’s as members of Pittsburgh’s most beloved rock/soul band – The Rhythm Kings. By May of 2011, NHB was ready to make a real rock-n-roll album. No more session players, just a well-rehearsed band entering the studio to play and record as one. Basic tracks were recorded live at Vento’s Corbriwood Studios in West Deer, PA, followed by post-production and mixing at Buddy Hall’s Beacon Hill Studio.

Then NHB returns to The Baja Bar & Grill at the Fox Chapel Yacht Club on Saturday November 17th. Plus this Saturday November 10th, NHB lead singer John Vento along with guitarist Ian Arthurs & Sal Monteverde.

Hotel is the seventh studio album by American electronica musician, singer, songwriter, and producer Moby. It was released on March 14, 2005 internationally by Mute Records and on March 22, 2005 in the United States by V2 Records. The album marked a stylistic shift from electronic and dance-oriented music towards alternative rock and Moby's decision not to use vocal sampling for the first time since his 1993 album Ambient.
