Shimon Dzigan (Yiddish: שמעון דזשיגאן‎, Polish: Szymon Dżigan; born 1905 in Łódź - April 14, 1980 in Tel Aviv) was a Jewish comedian. His father was a soldier in the Russian military. After the outbreak of the first world war Dzigan was apprenticed to a tailor to help the family make ends meet. Moyshe Broderzon was impressed by Dzigan's improvised parodies in 1927 and invited Dzigan to join the Ararat literary cabaret ( Klein Kunst Theater ) that he was founding in Łódź.

Dzigan and Schumacher started to stand out and soon began to perform just the two of them. Their acts were inspired by other popular comic dous, for example the films of Laurel and Hardy who were a cinematic blockbuster. He became popular in comic dialogues with Israel Schumacher, who played the sedate know-all to Dzigan's quick-witted ignoramus. When World War ii broke out, they escaped to Russia and gave performances for the Polish Jewish refugees. After the war, Dzigan and Schumacher performed in Western Europe and North and South America, before settling in Israel in 1952.
