The FAME Studios Story 1961-1973 is an exhaustive three CD set derived from two years’ worth of excavations by the intrepid Ace team at the hallowed FAME vault. The result is a full programme of FAME-related releases slated for issue on Ace, Kent, and BGP over the next couple of years, but the lynchpin is this definitive anthology that focuses upon the halcyon days of the studio and the label. If you know anything about soul music, you know FAME, which is why The FAME Studio Story 1961-1973 is an essential purchase. Disc 1 - Steal Away 01.

West Side Story is a 1961 American romantic musical drama film directed by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins. The film is an adaptation of the 1957 Broadway musical of the same name, which in turn was inspired by William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet

Some of the tracks like the Del-Rays' "Fortune Teller" were familiar to me because of cover recordings, such as The Rolling Stones' version on their "Got Live If You Want It" album. Here, from Arthur Alexander's original version of You Better Move On in 1961 to Travis Womack's much bluesier version from 1973, you get the absolute best in southern soul, no disrespect to Stax or American studios. Rick Hall had the musicians and the ear. He proved that when he lost his entire studio crew in 1969, and didn't miss a beat. This item: The Fame Studios Story 1961-73. Pages with related products.

Love the box, hate the packaging. You will end up damaging the set and the sturdy cardboard book cannot be returned fully inside the slipcase as you will not be able to remove it again.
