Codec & Flexor recorded their first LP ten years after playing in the same band. Though they kept in touch, Codec (aka Sven Zalac) began producing techno, while Flexor sang in a German band called De Luxe. The divide between pop and techno has been bridged often and occasionally very well, but Tubed isn't a good example.

Sven Zalac (Codec) & Mathias Freund (Flexor) The band Codec & Flexor first played in together was the independent Rock band "Atomic Comic" founded in 1992. During the following year they had their first gigs on stage. When Codec was looking for new possibilities in 1993 he discovered his passion for electronic music and decided to go his own way. At the same time Flexor became the leadsinger of the newlie band "De Luxe".

Codec & Flexor signed to Morgenstern's own Forte label (also home to several of his solo productions) and released the synth pop update single "Crazy Girls" in 2001. Hot on its heels came "Eldar," a collaboration with respected moody techno maestro Michael Mayer. Debut album Tubed followed on Forte, and was distributed by Emperor Norton for an American release early in 2003.
