Robbie Robertson is the solo debut album by Canadian rock musician Robbie Robertson, released in 1987. Though Robertson has been a professional musician since the late 1950s, notably a founder of and primary songwriter for The Band, this was his first proper solo album. Robbie Robertson won the Juno Award for "Album of the Year", and producers Daniel Lanois and Robertson won the "Producer of the Year" Juno award, both in 1989 (there were no Juno Awards in 1988).

A Burns supper is a celebration of the life and poetry of the poet Robert Burns (25 January 1759 – 21 July 1796), the author of many Scots poems. The suppers are normally held on or near the poet's birthday, 25 January, occasionally known as Robert Burns Day (or Robbie Burns Day or Rabbie Burns Day) but more commonly known as Burns Night (Scots: Burns Nicht). However, in principle, celebrations may be held at any other time of the year.

The Burns Supper held Annually by Alexandria Burns Club in celebration of the life and works of Scotland's national bard, Robert Burns. Eating Haggis is very much a part of a Burns supper. Haggis is a dish that has been associated with Burns since he wrote his poem - the address, "To a Haggis. The beast is made from a concoction of ingredients that are mixed and inserted into a sheep's stomach bag, which is then tied tightly at both ends and boiled. The ingredients include lambs liver, oatmeal, suet, stock, onion, salt pepper and other seasonings. In recent times the sheep's stomach bag is often replaced with a collagen sausage skin. The first Burns supper was held in July 1801 when nine of Burns’ close friends got together to mark the fifth anniversary of their friend’s death. Taking place at Burns Cottage in Alloway, the night included a tasty meal (haggis, of course!), performances of Burns’ work and a speech in honour of the great Bard (now known as the Immortal Memory).

Robbie Burns day in Toronto is as fine an occasion to have a few drinks as one could image. Among Burns' achievements are the fact that he penned some of Scotland's most famous and memorable poems, became a cultural icon and a beacon to liberalism, and was even recently chosen by his people as The Greatest Scot of all time. He was a celebrity during a time when being a celebrity meant not just taking pictures of yourself on social media but having actual talent, skills, intelligence, and/or abilities. Mill Street Brew Pub Mill Street's traditional Robbie Burns supper and brewmaster's dinner on Sunday January 25th features five courses and a different beer paired with each course. Accordingly, it's once again my pick for the best place to toast the ploughman's poet (I'm a bit beer biased).
