Pete Sinfield was in the early days of King Crimson the writer of their lyrics : In 1973 he did his first Solo Album " STILL ". This is the Title-number.
Still (also known as Stillusion) is the first solo album released in 1973 by Pete Sinfield, lyricist of progressive rock band King Crimson. At the time, Sinfield was involved with Emerson, Lake & Palmer, and Greg Lake assisted with vocals, while King Crimson alumni provided other assistance. The cover artwork depicts "The Big Friend" by German artist Sulamith Wülfing. All lyrics written by Pete Sinfield.
The Japanese Mini-LP sleeve CD version of "Still" sounds much better than "Stillusion", which suffers from an EQ problem: the high frequencies are unnaturally pronounced. This King Crimson related record is the sole album of lyricist Peter Sinfield who wrote the lyrics for the first four Crimson albums, some ELP albums and some Italian progressive rock bands. On this album Sinfield not only writes the lyrics, but also shows his more then reasonable vocal capabilities and he plays 12-string guitar and synth. He also wrote most of the material, being helped by McDonald (also ex-KC), Brunton, Jump and the well-known Mel Collins (who's wind-instrument are a great contribution).
The Album Mix - Remastered From The Original Analogue Master Tapes. 1-1. The Song Of The Sea Goat. Stillusion (CD, Album, RE). Manticore, Blueprint (4). MSIF 3327, BP152CD.
As expected, Pete Sinfield's only solo attempt has the fingerprints of King Crimson covering every track, and the end result is an obvious but rather gratifying piece of early progressive rock. With fellow Crimsonites Greg Lake, Mel Collins, and John Wetton helping him out, Sinfield manages to capture a sturdy-enough progressive air across the length of the album, complemented by periodic injections of classical, rock, and jazz movements
Band Name Peter Sinfield. Labels Manticore Records. 6. Envelopes of Yesterday.
Sinfield has listened to those who he previously wrote lines for, but his high, thin voice isn’t always the easiest to be drawn into the music by, and his intonation can be overly theatrical at times, making the album less believable. Nevertheless, there are some enduring moments on the record, be they never as good as anything the better-known 70’s progressive artists have put out at their heights
Tracklist: 1. The Song Of The Sea Goat, 2. Under The Sky, 3. Will It Be You, 4. Wholefood Boogie, 5. Still, 6. Envelopes Of Yesterday, 7. The Piper, 8. A House Of Hopes And Dreams, 9. The Night People. By: Peter Sinfield (1973, Rock). 1.
Peter Sinfield (born on December 27, 1943 in London, England) is most famously known as the lyricist for early incarnations of King Crimson. He contributed to In the Court of the Crimson King, In the Wake of Poseidon, Lizard and Islands, which he also produced. After having been asked to leave the group by Robert Fripp, Sinfield continued to be active in the progressive rock scene. He produced Roxy Music's first album Roxy Music, and later recorded a solo album, Still, in 1973. The album was later reissued on CD with additional tracks as Stillusion.
Pete Sinfield was the lyricist for the early King Crimson albums; he continued his association with Greg Lake and this wonderful album was one of the first releases on ELP's Manticore label. The album features contributions from a who's-who of Crimson-coloured Progressive Rock - Greg Lake, Boz Burrell, John Wetton, Mel Collins and Ian Wallace can all be found here. Sadly this superb record received minimal promotion in a busy year and has largely been forgotten. 08 - A House Of Hopes And Dreams - Peter Sinfield download. 09 - The Night People - Peter Sinfield download. download 40 Files download 13 Original.
