In dem äußerst ironischen Film ’24-Hour Party People’ portraitiert Regisseur Michael Winterbottom die englische Produzentenlegende Tony Wilson, der sich durch ebenso schlechte geschäftliche Entscheidungen wie auch seinen scharfen Intellekt auszeichnet. In einer Szene beschreibt er seinen Kollegen, was er für den schlechtesten Bandnamen aller Zeiten hält. Tatsächlich schrieb sich die spanische Jazzfunk-Combo auch Barrabas, was in der englischen Aussprache aber untergeht. Die Gruppe war in den 70ern und frühen 80ern in Europa und Amerika erfolgreich. Ob sie ihre Erwähnung in Winterbottoms Film kommentiert haben, ist nicht bekannt.
