Starlight Dancer is a 1977 album by Dutch progressive rock band Kayak. It was produced by Jack Lancaster and Kayak. The North American release is very different from the original Dutch/European release with the same title. In fact it is a compilation of songs from Starlight Dancer and their previous album The Last Encore (1976).

Album Starlight Dancer. I Want You to Be Mine Lyrics. Life was only a cloudful of rain With the sun never shining on me Sad and lonely but then when she came She was all that I wanted to see. I want you to be mine All I need is the words and the rhyme I want you to be mine  . I Want You to Be Mine.

Starlight Dancer is a music studio album recording by KAYAK (Crossover Prog/Progressive Rock) released in 1977 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. I did catch a fleeting hint of the neo-prog of IQ on "Want you to be mine", and a hint of more complex structures on the title track, but they turned out to be cruel teasers, the songs ending before anything truly progressive could sneak in. In summary, Kayak are highly competent in their field. On the evidence of this, (and the two succeeding albums) that field is high quality pop rock with strict limitations on the parameters they work within.

This album is the only Kayak album with members Charles Louis Schouten (drums) and Theo de Jong (bass). The song "Golddust" is the only song written by Max Werner that Kayak recorded. It features a guest appearance by Dutch keyboardist Rick van der Linden. Only two songs of this release ("Turn the Tide" and "Starlight Dancer") were used on the North American release. Want You to Be Mine" and "Irene" are also included, but these were in fact demo-versions, slightly different from the versions on the European album.
