This 1975 best-of is a well-rounded portrayal of Regina's rich artistry, including hits like "Madalena" and "Arrastao" and her definitive performances of songs by many of Brazil's most important composers.
Elis Regina, one of Brazil’s most adored singers, partnered in 1974 with bossa nova star Antônio Carlos Tom Jobim to make one of the finest songbook albums of all time. With her relaxed and intimate delivery, Regina highlights the melodic genius of Jobim’s songs like no one else, whether it’s a hovering minor-key mood piece like Modhina or an airtight groove like Brigas Nunca Mais. Jobim mainly plays piano, though he sings with Regina on the playful opener Águas de Março and elsewhere.
