The American Way is the second studio album by American thrash metal band Sacred Reich, released on May 15, 1990 by Metal Blade Records. From taking shots at their own countries faults, to songs of apartheid in Africa, the band definitely had a message they wanted to be heard. This album contains some of the bands most politically charged and bitter material to date. The music found on "The American Way" is very aggressive and intense. Although the music may seem pretty tame in comparison to the brutal thrash metal assault found on "Ignorance", the band decided that a change in sound was needed with concern towards their 1990 release. Instead the band decided to play a broader form of heavy metal, slowing down their sound considerably. This is a gamble though, as loud and extremely fast thrash is what made these guys so enjoyable to fans in the past.
