Blessing in Disguise (Metal Church album). Blessing in Disguise is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Metal Church, released on February 7, 1989. It was the band's final release on Elektra Records. This was the first album not to feature the vocals of David Wayne, due to his departure to form the band Reverend.

Blessing in Disguise is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Metal Church, released on February 7, 1989. This release featured new vocalist Mike Howe (ex-Heretic) and guitarist John Marshall, who took over Kurdt Vanderhoof's position. Metal Church spent most of 1989 and 1990 touring behind Blessing in Disguise. tour in the spring of 1989 with Meliah Rage, and supported . on their Headless Children tour. Metal Church played one show in Germany in October 1989 with Fates Warning and Toranaga, and opened for Saxon in Europe in April 1990 Track listing.

Blessing In Disguise was everyone's introduction to Howe, and it's a great album full of kick ass tunes. This was a major upgrade from their first two albums so far as songwriting – while the band was always very talented, this album saw them expanding their epic style and varying things up way more than they had in the past, splicing quick thrashers with midtempo epics as well as huge, sorrowful ballads. The sound of Blessing in Disguise, though clearly recognizable as Metal Church, is different enough that those intimate with their earlier work might be hesitant to receive it. Those unfamiliar with the fine institution that is the Metal Church are usually told that they started out as a thrash band and slowly relinquished those darker elements in favor of more traditional/power metal equivalents before finally abandoning them altogether, or some similar tale.

Metal Church-The Spell Cant Be Broken 6:49. Metal Church-Fake Healer 5:58. Metal Church - Rest in Pieces (April 15, 1912) 6:40. Metal Church - Of Unsound mind 4:45. Metal Church - Anthem to the Estranged 9:33.

Perhaps the finest Metal Church release, Blessing in Disguise offers some of the best material in the group's long career. New vocalist Mike Howe joined up with the band for the recording of this 1989 Elektra release, replacing the departed David Wayne and bringing a burst of energy that the group used to create some of the best American underground metal of the decade. Metal producer extraordinaire Terry Date (White Zombie, Def Tones) dials up some fiery guitar and drum sounds adding an awesome sonic element to the group's fine arrangements and ultra-heavy riffing

Blessing in Disguise is an album by American heavy metal band Metal Church, released as a vinyl LP in the summer of 1989; the CD followed in 1990.
