The band released their first album independently on September 20, 2006 entitled Until We're Dead. Next, the band released an independent EP called Burning Satellites EP. Then, they released their first major label debut EP in 2011 on Atlantic Records, which was called We as Human EP, and this charted at No. 35 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums.

As We Ascend has "ascended" from the ashes of what was We As Human with guitarists Justin Forshaw and Jake Jones forming the new band. The group has been building hype for a while, but now Farewell to Midnight, and the moment of truth, is upon us. "Hatchet" and "My Ghost" start the album off harmlessly enough as pretty standard modern rock numbers sure to grab the attention of those who dig the current secular rock stations

As We Ascend is a rock band from the greater Nashville area. Members Justin Forshaw and Jake Jones (formerly of rock sensation We As Human) along with Robert Venable (acclaimed music producer) all have extensive professional careers in the music industry and are able to bring a variety of musical expertise to the table.
