Azul y Negro is a Spanish synthpop music duo that was founded in 1981 by Carlos García-Vaso, a multi instrumentalist, songwriter and producer, and Joaquín Montoya: (b. 1950 Cartagena). Azul y Negro were pioneers of synth and electropop in Spain. The debut album La Edad De Los Colores was released in 1981. The year after the album La Noche (The Night) was released, followed by the better known Digital. An international chart release, it was an instant chart success.

Azul y Negro was founded in 1981 by Carlos G. Vaso (born 1953 in Cartagena, Spain) a multi instrumentalist,songwriter and producer, and Joaquín Montoya (b. 1950 Cartagena, Spain). The first album "La Edad de los Colores" was released later that year. The single "Me Estoy Volviendo Loco" (Going Crazy) became a hit in Europe, Japan, United States and Australia. The album "Digital" (-83) was a collection of songs from the two first albums, "La Edad de los Colores" and "La Noche" (The Night). The album was a huge success. Four years later the album "De Vuelta al Futuro" was released. This album had old classics that were mixed together, In "Mix Azul" & "Mix Negro". Three years later (96) a mix collection was released with the title "De Vuelta al Futuro II". Joaquín Montoya had left the band. Vaso teamed up with Jose Antonio álvarez and finally some new songs were made again.
