With Jimmy Cauty, Bill Drummond announced his retirement from pop-music with a dramatic performance involving deactivated machine guns, a dead sheep and a grindcore version of the KLF hit 3am Eternal at the 1992 BRIT Awards. His involvement in the music industry more widely has been minimal since his final collaboration with Jimmy Cauty as 2K in 1997. Retrieved 13 August 2012.

William Ernest Drummond (Bill Drummond) (born April 29, 1953, Butterworth, South Africa) is a Scottish musician, music industry figure, writer and artist. He is best known as co-founder of The KLF, the avant-garde "pop group" of the late eighties, the K Foundation, its nineties "avant-art" media-manipulating successor, and for burning a million pounds in 1994.

The Man" is an album recorded and released by Scottish musician and music industry figure Bill Drummond in 1986. In 1986, Drummond had announced his resignation from his position as an A&R man at record label WEA, citing that he was nearly 3. years old (3. rpm being significant to Drummond as the speed at which a vinyl LP revolves), and that it was "time for a revolution in my life " ["Special K", "GQ" magazine (1995), quoting "a ringingly quix.

Bill Drummond’s formative years were spent as a carpenter and set-builder; the avant garde actor and director Ken Campbell recruited him for his alternative Science Fiction Theatre of Liverpool in 1976, hiring him to design and build staging for a hugely ambitious, 12-hour-long adaptation of Illuminatus! As it happens, Drummond was 23 at the time. The two realised they were of a similar worldview. When Brilliant foundered – and after Drummond recorded an odd folk album called The Man – they determined to do something that flew in the face of everything that expensively produced major-label music represented. The washed-up 33-year-old former manager and the failed pop star would make a hip-hop record, purely from samples, recording it on New Year’s Day 1987.

Bill Drummond was a pop star in Teardrop Explodes before founding the KLF and later the K Foundation. Mark Manning was a founder of Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction. Mark Manning's canny but brutal heavy-metal prose provides a despicably funny counterpoint to Bill Drummond's more introspective- and subtle- recounting of the events of the story. While this book is sure to be offensive many, there are those who will find that to be one of its virtues. Bad Wisdom has the makings of an underground classic in the mold of the Illuminatus Trilogy: I highly recommend it!

There is a mountain to climb the hard way, and I want to see the world from the top and his first move was to record and release The Man, and an accompanying spoken-word diatribe The Managers Speech.
