Stewart Armstrong Copeland (born July 16, 1952) is an American musician and composer. He was the drummer for the British rock band the Police, has produced film and video game soundtracks and written various pieces of music for ballet, opera and orchestra. According to MusicRadar, Copeland's "distinctive drum sound and uniqueness of style has made him one of the most popular drummers to ever get behind a drumset.

On the Water is the third album by synthpop band Future Islands. The album was released on 11 October 2011 on Thrill Jockey records. The album was recorded in a friend's house in Elizabeth City, North Carolina between March and May 2011. Wye Oak's Jenn Wasner duets on The Great Fire. The album peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.

Stewart Copeland’s new trio sounded as if it was teetering on the edge of several musical worlds without quite making a definitive statement in an. Mr. Copeland is among a number of rock musicians, including Paul McCartney and Sting, who have ventured into the classical arena. On Wednesday at the Trustees Theater in Savannah, G. the pianist Sebastian Knauer and the superb violinist Daniel Hope joined Mr. Copeland for the world premiere of his Celeste, which was commissioned by the Savannah Music Festival. The program, called An Evening With Stewart Copeland, also featured concert arrangements of his works, performed by an ensemble introduced as Savannah Orchestralli.
