So it looks like its Above board Distro behind mint condition. Considering their track record such as lazy/poor mastering and cut-backs on quality etc., on all the reissues since 2014. Does anyone have any comments about sound quality? Does it sound more like the original or is it muddy/too modern i.e. lacking in dynamic range/etc?Any comments would be helpful, Cheers!

is there going to be more copies pressed up soon?

Hey Logan, i hear your points. We are generally working with catalogue owners in general as opposed to licensing deals in most cases so we are not always in control of the full process. We started Mint Condition to license titles and use DATs and a studio or our chosing which is generally Curve Pusher in London whom we're finding have the best results. Yes we've had on other distributed labels use vinyl rips by their request as their simply is no master tapes anywhere any more and the label wanted to push ahead with the release as a vinyl rip which we know is not ideal but sometimes the only option (mainly from KMS/430 West titles). Please see this recent Bottom Line project which we've been fully involved with which sound absolutely perfect and we will ensure that its optimum quality. All releases on Mint Condition (with the exception of MC003) have been mastered from the DATs and all sound perfect - we absolutely did not cut any corners here at all. The Trax catalogue (with a few exceptions) was all audio engineered by Arjan Reitvink in Holland, the West End and Salsoul catalogues (with a few exceptions) all done from original tapes. The forthcoming Madhouse re issues we all fully remastered by Kerri Chandler himself plus all the forthcoming Strictly Rhythm titles also done from original DATs/tapes. We've also switched up studios to ensure a better quality all round on anything we're involved with so i hope you can trust in us on all projects in the future. If thats the case, it seems like one of the rare instances, AB managed to not make a total mess of the job. Perhaps it would be advisable to be completely open to the unbelievably large number of complaints and criticism about the quality and mastering over a vast majority of the records you've reissued. At the very worst end of the spectrum, they sound like a 192kbp pressed onto vinyl, check here as an example https://www.discogs.com/Polartronics-The-Deep-/release/6738129. Try some serious quality control as opposed to the absolute shambles that's been wreaked, in the attempt to milk money by reissuing vast, vast quantities of material.

the record sounds perfect. we flew DATs in from Joshua in Chicago to be mastered by Curve Pusher in London. Its sounds perfect. Nothing lazy about it thankyou very much.

One of the VERY VERY few records on this site that I would advocate the payment of fifty English quids for. Masterful work. Artistry even.

The harsh sample giving way to those overwhelmingly wonderful harmonic glides makes sincerely (creation mix) my track on this record.
