Peggy Suicide - Студийный альбом от Julian Cope. Вышел 29 апреля 1991г. В альбом вошло 30 треков. Продолжительность альбома: 02:38:32.
Peggy Suicide is the seventh album by Julian Cope. It is generally seen as the beginning of Cope's trademark sound and approach, and as a turning-point for Cope as a maturing artist. Peggy Suicide was recorded and released following two lo-fi Cope albums - Skellington and Droolian - which had not gained official distribution and caused friction with Cope's label Island Records

Julian Cope – Peggy Suicide 1991 (Best UK album Chart Position 23). As a lover of Teardrop Explodes, with their quaint Englishness, horns and hook laden songs, I was surprised to see Julian Cope, with acoustic guitar, on the now defunct TV show ‘The Roxy’ singing what was, upon first impression, a travesty of a folky song called ‘Pristeen’. Was this the reward I was expected to learn to accept". Pristeen How much can you take"

1991’s Peggy Suicide helped re-establish Julian Cope as an artist of consequence. His work with the Teardrop Explodes had made him a credible singer-songwriter with fantastically modern psychedelic visions, but the music from his solo career veered towards hard-edged pop for the masses and obscure tunes best left to his hardcore fans. With Peggy Suicide, Cope came into focus. Its original 18 tracks made for a powerful double album at a time when CDs were the dominant format (the album was split into four parts).
