That's the problem for Franz Ferdinand, who had the scene's biggest global hit in Take Me Out. If you're successful and hip – and Franz Ferdinand were so hip they appeared in a Grammy awards mashup with the Black Eyed Peas and Maroon 5 and emerged unscathed – an evil algorithm dictates that each of your subsequent albums must be exponentially better than the last if you are to continue to surf the wave you've generated  . At first glance the album is merely some Jack Daniels-soaked madeleine to summon memories of another time. They could have tried to squeeze into their 2004 sonic wardrobe, but Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action is handsomely dressed in contemporary garb: Franz are ageing gracefully by getting fellow disco dads like Hot Chip and Norwegian dance producer Todd Terje to give their tracks a bit of modern production flair, but still cut their cloth with the same lines that flattered

Right Action opens with enough boisterous energy and superfluous brass flourishes that it’s easy to miss the wry humor of Alex Kapranos’s lyrics: Sometimes wish you were here, weather permitting. The band also earns its Swedish-pop credentials by enlisting production help from Björn Yttling of Peter Björn & John: The synth line on lead single Love Illumination is catchier than anything MGMT has put out of late  . And yet Beam’s process for writing the songs on the album (he wrote all but one of them) was fairly private and intuitive. Writing songs is not a math problem, he says. There’s not a right or wrong answer. So you kind of do what you feel like at the moment. It’s a matter of what you’re trying to achieve with a song, any individual one. If you want to express an idea outside of your experience and live into that, songs and art are a great place to do that, to explore an ideal or fantasy. I don’t really do that. Sound - 8 Franz Ferdinand was formed in or around 2002 and has maintained their original lineup to date. Their debut self-titled album released in 2004, having already received a lot of buzz for their lead single " Take Me Out. The band started work on their second album very shortly after this, releasing " You Could Have It So Much Better " just one year later in 2005. By the point their second album released they were considered one of the hottest "indie" bands active at the time. Their third album, " Tonight: Franz Ferdinand," wasn't released.

Upon first listen Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Actions will probably sound like the Franz Ferdinand that jiggered and sliced their way onto the scene in 2004 (if you can remember back that far). Of their four studio albums this one does most resemble their debut in my opinion. It has the same brash upbeat energy. There are moments when the band experiments with psychedelic synth. Upon first listen Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Actions will probably sound like the Franz Ferdinand that jiggered and sliced their way onto the scene in 2004 (if you can remember back that far)  . With this album Franz Ferdinand is still keeping their brand of catchy, dancey & uniquely charming indie rock alive after nearly a decade. Most of the best traits of this album can be found in its 2 current singles, Love Illumination" and the semi-title track Right Action, between its infectious hooks & tight precise grooves. Right Action was the first taste of the album people got &With this album Franz Ferdinand is still keeping their brand of catchy, dancey & uniquely charming indie rock alive after nearly a decade.
