This Can't Be Love" is a show tune and a popular song from the 1938 Rodgers and Hart musical The Boys from Syracuse when it was sung by Eddie Albert and Marcy Westcott. The lyrics poke fun at the common depiction of love in popular songs as a host of malignant symptoms, saying, "This can't be love because I feel so well. The song was a hit for the orchestras of Horace Heidt (vocal by Larry Cotton) and Benny Goodman (vocal by Martha Tilton) in late 1938 and early 1939.

Pookah was a three-piece Rock outfit from Europe with a bit of Soul and catchy quirkiness to them. This mix can be heard on tracks like the opening Blue And Peaceful where John Ippolito, who also played guitar, really gets down on the bass during the versus. Kickin A Can is even better with its catchy versus and bridge. Merlin’s Party (yes, Pookah were a Prog-Rock group!) has some loud drums and bass that create a nice mood with their interplay with the organ.

Chris Pookah is a Scottish singer-songwriter who plays guitar, Irish Bouzouki, Mandolin and percussion. His music can be described as a blend of traditional Folk & World music, entwined with Rock and Jazz. This year, among numerous venues and festivals, he will be also playing at the unique Croatian Exposure music festival.
