After a number of line-up changes, the overall sound is augmented by a harmonium and a harpsichord (played by Emmanuel NICAISE) and a second violin (Marcel DUFRANE). UZ has now found the right balance in its combination of acoustic and electric instruments. A number of concerts abroad follow, some of them in a combined line-up with ART ZOYD in France. In 1979 UZ record their second album, „HERESIE. It contains compositions of considerable length, which strive to convey extreme emotions of an increasingly sombre mood. Following tours of Sweden, Italy and France, (and the departure of Roger Trigaux, who starts his own group, PRESENT), the group is joined by Andy KIRK on keyboards.

Univers Zero (also known as Univers Zéro and Univers-Zero) are an instrumental progressive Belgian band formed in 1974 by drummer Daniel Denis. The band is known for playing dark music heavily influenced by 20th-century chamber music. In 1973, Claude Deron and Daniel Denis, both former members of Belgian "Zeuhl" band Arkham (which had disbanded the previous year), set up a new group, Necronomicon.

Heresie was the second album released by Belgium's legendary avant-garde rock band Univers Zero, co-founders of the highly influencial "Rock in Opposition" (. Originally released in 1979, it has been considered a high water mark of new music composition, performance, and dark, sinister intensity for over 30 years and has never been out of print  . That being said Heresie is the second of the one,two punch of the classic Univers Zero. Often described as the darkest album of all time it really doesn't seem all that dark to me. My wife calls it Scary Movie music and that's probably why I don't find it so scary, I love horror movies.

Univers Zero's debut recording, 1313, may be somber, but it's a walk in the park compared to their second release, which features more or less the same lineup as the first (oboe, bassoon, viola, violin, bass, guitar, keyboards, drums), except for an additional and prominent contribution of cathedral organ from t Roger Trigaux. Studio overdubbing sometimes gives the five-man group the sound of a much larger chamber ensemble. In the early '70s, Univers Zero drummer Daniel Denis was employed as a second drummer in Vander's group. "Jack the Ripper," the second long piece, maintains the oppressive atmosphere, and after a long, brooding introduction, introduces the nervous, jabbing ostinato patterns which were to become a Univers Zero trademark.
