DLR Band" is the fifth full-length studio album by David Lee Roth, the then-former and now current vocalist of Van Halen
Features Song Lyrics for David Lee Roth's DLR Band album.
DLR Band is the fifth full-length studio album by David Lee Roth, the former vocalist of Van Halen. DLR Band was recorded and mixed in ten days, a technique Roth had not utilized since 1979's Van Halen II. John Lowery (aka John 5) and Mike Hartman played guitar on the record. Lowery actually performed double duty for the record, performing bass guitar under the "B'ourbon Bob" pseudonym.
Shop Vinyl and CDs and complete your DLR Band collection. This is a great cd by David. Funny part is it sounds alot like Van Halen, it is a good cd give it a listen.
Elsewhere, the DLR Band sound like prime-era Led Zeppelin, with Roth as frontman. This is certainly a fun listen. Just don't expect the second coming of Van Halen. I got this album when it came out in 1998 (I was 18 at the time) and listened to for a month or two and then would revisit it from time to time over the years. and I really haven't stopped since. this album is a must own for true David Lee Roth fans
Released on June 9, 1998, DLR Band was his fifth full-length album, and has to be his most Van Halen-sounding solo album since 1986’s Eat ‘Em And Smile. DLR Band was recorded and mixed in ten days, a similar technique to 1979’s Van Halen II. Lowery also played bass guitar under the B’ourbon Bob pseudonym. The album debuted at on the charts with 8,000 copies sold in the first week. Within a year the album had sold 65,000 copies.
DLR, Break and Randall come together for lead track ‘Song & Dance’, an old-school reminiscent roller with snipped up, mc-lead vocal samples and jazzy instrumentals. The energy between all three artists is instantly recognisable, with Randall’s old-school approach shining through each layer. On top of strung guitar notes and a hook which nods to its namesake, ‘Song & Dance’ blends a mixture of styles to present a versatile addition to Sofa Sound.
