Susanna Hoffs is the second solo album by Susanna Hoffs. The style of the album is more folk-oriented than her earlier work. Columbia Records hated and disagreed with this style and dropped her from their roster, resulting in Hoffs signing to London Records. The album is much more personal and deals with issues like abusive relationships and insecurities; "Weak With Love" is about John Lennon's assassination.

Susanna Hood is a compelling and virtuosic performer in dance and music. For this project, The Muted Note, Scott and Susanna perform the suite as a duo; with Scott's quintet, The Disguises (with Nicolas Caloia, Yves Charuest, and Pierre Tanguay); and as a full stage work featuring Susanna's choreography on three other dancers (Ellen Furey, Alanna Kraaijeveld, and Bernard Martin) with live music by The Disguises.

Their first album, ‘the talk of tennis,’ was released on Gaffer Records in May 2014 and their second, get your glitter jacket, is now out as a joint release through Gaffer Records and Insula Music. performances by Divergence Trio (Emily Denison, Susanna Hood, Scott Thomson) and So Long Seven (Neil Hendry, Tim Posgate, William Lamoureux, Ravi Naimpally).

The songs on The Muted Note are an outgrowth of work made by trombonist Scott Thomson and singer-dancer Susanna Hood as part of The . That experience led Thomson to compose this suite of song settings of poems by P. K. Page, a project that started in 2010, following Page’s death at age ninety-three. The suite was written in Montreal under the supervision of Jean Derome, with whom Thomson was studying at the time.

Scott Yuill Thomson (born 8 November 1966 in Edinburgh) is a Scottish former professional football goalkeeper, who played mainly for Raith Rovers and won the 1994 Scottish League Cup Final when the Stark's Park club defeated Celtic at Ibrox Park. Since retiring as a player, he has worked as a goalkeeping coach. Thomson started his professional career at Dundee United.
