Blessed He With Boils was recorded and mixed by Matthew Earl from the late months of 2011 to the end of 2012 at Erthe and Axen Studios in California. The album was mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden. Album Art and Map by Natacha Nielsen. The story of two brothers; Thanos and Sindr (better known as Ereptor) forms the cornerstone upon which Xanthochroid builds their cinematic metal universe.

It is sophisticated, yet savage, theatrical without being silly, and virtuoso, but not self-indulgent. It takes all of the best aspects of forward-thinking bands like Emperor and Opeth and executes them marvelously while maintaining an original artistic voice.
