Much to the chagrin of Motown executives and soul fans, Marvin Gaye had a penchant for wanting to record soft, sentimental ballads over the formula that made Motown the juggernaut that it was. Hello Broadway is one of several compilations of sessions recorded in the early- to mid-'60s that finds Gaye's smooth, seductive voice covering a wide range of material. But Hello Broadway is Gaye singing standards from Broadway musicals, and for diehard fans this is a real treat.

You're the Man is a posthumous studio album by American singer Marvin Gaye, originally intended to be released in 1972 as the follow-up to What's Going On. It was released on March 29, 2019, through Motown, Universal Music Enterprises, and Universal Music Group to celebrate what would have been Gaye's 80th birthday on April 2, 2019. The album includes the single of the same name, as well as the intended original album in full and other songs Gaye recorded at the time.

Marvin left Motown in 1981, with the politically tinged album In Our Lifetime. He fled to London, then Belgium, where he created for Columbia Records Sexual Healing, his first Grammy® winner. But another hit was not salvation from his demons.
