Bill Sharpe from early 80s soul/funk group Shakatak teamed up with synth pop pioneer Gary Numan in 1984. This unlikely combination scored a UK Top 20 hit in early 1985 with 'Change Your Mind'. Several follow-up singles; 'New Thing From London Town', 'No More Lies' and 'I'm On Automatic' plus an album 'Automatic' all charted but made considerably less impact.
