The 1974 third studio album Sheer Heart Attack catapulted Queen into international rock stardom. Its lead hit single, Freddie Mercury’s rock-pop Killer Queen was the sheer chart attack catalyst of the album’s popularity, creating Queen-mania in the . much of Europe, including some of Eastern Europe, and particularly in Japa. ueen’s first presence in Japan, during their first tour there (or leg thereof, in support of Sheer Heart Attack ) drew a Japanese-flavored frenzy of Beatle-maniacal proportions. Another brief, intensely melodic song, nestled into the album’s roller-coaster musical eclecticism, lies the first contribution by the one non-singing Queen member, bass player John Deacon, on the uber-melodic Misfire, (along with his one-quarter contribution to Stone Cold Crazy, duly noted, and quickly grounded, by his bass-playing applomb).
