21 year old GIA MAIONE soon to be GIA PRIMA performs John Hendricks great I WANT YOU TO BE MY BABY.
Gia Maione Prima (May 20, 1941 – September 23, 2013) was an American singer and wife of singer Louis Prima. Born in Roebling, New Jersey, Maione was a 1959 graduate of Toms River High School (now known as Toms River High School South). She first gained notice in 1962, when she was signed to sing lead female vocals for Prima and his band. Prima had divorced Keely Smith, his former lead vocalist, the year before. Smith left the orchestra, creating the opening that Maione filled.

Louis Prima and his then-wife Gia Maione teamed their talents for this jazz/swing re-imagining of the MARY POPPINS score. The album as a whole is fun, with the emphasis naturally on the upbeat with such tunes as "A Spoonful of Sugar", "Jolly Holiday" and "Step in Time"; yet the crown jewel of the set is Prima's beautifully poetic treatment of "Feed the Birds". Gia Maione has a charming if basic voice. She doesn't have the biggest range but serves the material well; her best number on the album is "Sister Suffragette"
The music ended up quite lightweight, and this set is very brief (27 minutes). Prima only takes one trumpet solo (a rather weak statement on "The Perfect Nanny"), and the ten numbers (two of which are performed twice, the second time in Italian) are essentially treated as novelties by Prima and his then-wife Gia Maione
