Club 8 is a Swedish musical group consisting of Karolina Komstedt (from the band Poprace) and Johan Angergård (Acid House Kings, Poprace). Formed in 1995, Club 8 were signed to the Spanish record label Siesta. They released a single called "Me Too" and an album called Nouvelle with an twee pop sound. The self-titled third album by the eclectic Swedish duo Club 8 (their first to released in the . More importantly, although the cozy, blithely romantic mood is more important than immediately catchy hooks, the songs are engagingly melodic, and stick in the listener's head after only a couple of spins. There's nothing here that hasn't been done before, but Club 8's dreamy brand of lounge pop makes an inviting late-night listen.
A full-length album, Nouvelle, followed in 1996. Now releasing albums on an international level (and touring in support of them, too), Club 8 continued tinkering with different influences throughout the early 2000s. A self-titled album appeared in 2001 and earned comparisons to Portishead's work, while 2002's Spring Came, Rain Fell was even more experimental and electronic, due in no small part to the construction of the band's own recording studio.
They released a single called "Me Too" and an album called Nouvelle with an anorak pop sound. In 1998, their second album The Friend I Once Had and the single "Missing You" were released. Their first gig was in New York at a March Records CMJ event in 1999. Their sound had by now developed into a more bossa nova and dance oriented one.
Nouvelle Vague is the debut studio album by the French band Nouvelle Vague. It was first released on 9 August 2004 on Peacefrog Records. Nouvelle Vague peaked at number 69 on the French album charts, spending a total of 39 weeks in the top 200.
