Have You Never Been Mellow is the sixth studio album by Australian singer-songwriter Olivia Newton-John, released on 12 February 1975 by MCA Records. Both the title single and the album rose to the top of their respective US charts (the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and the Billboard 200 albums chart). The title song and its follow-up, "Please Mr. Please", were both top 10 on three Billboard charts: the Hot 100, Adult Contemporary, and Country, and were both also Number One singles in the Netherlands.

Her 2013 album, Britney Jean, was met with a muted response, however; it seemed that Britney had sort of given up. Similarly, last year's misguided duet with Iggy Azalea, 'Pretty Girls', was perfectly serviceable but nowhere near the calibre of material that had turned Brit from a Louisiana-born child star into a global icon. Vulnerability is something that has been missing from nearly all of Britney's albums post-In The Zone. Tracks like 'Everytime' signalled that under the sheen of dance routines, expensive videos and high octane stage performances, there was a sensitive and delicate soul that could convey emotions without melodrama. We'd have never thought that Britney could have pulled off a divalicious track like 'What You Need' but she does, and she does it with bags of sass and attitude.

Such moments accentuate Britney's playfulness, an aspect of her persona that's been in hibernation for nearly a decade, and it's a welcome return, as is Glory as a whole: it feels as fun and frivolous as her earliest music while retaining the freshness of her best mature work.
