Description

Richards) Recorded by "The Rolling Stones" at "Pathé Marconi Studios", Billancourt, France (October 1977/March 2nd, 1978) Track 06 - "Everlasting Is My Love" (M. Jagger - K. Richards) .

Some Girls is the 14th British and 16th American studio album by the Rolling Stones, released in 1978 on Rolling Stones Records. It was the first album to feature guitarist Ronnie Wood as a full-time member; joining founder members Mick Jagger (vocals), Keith Richards (guitar), Bill Wyman (bass) and Charlie Watts (drums). Wood had contributed to some tracks on the Rolling Stones prior two albums, 1974's It's Only Rock 'n Roll and 1976's Black and Blue, and joined the band full time in 1976

Rolling Stones Unearth Material for ‘Some Girls’ Reissue. The Some Girls sessions were famously productive – mostly just the five Stones and engineer Chris Kimsey holed up in a Paris studio cutting dozens of songs. Some of the leftovers landed on later albums – see Hang Fire or Black Limousine, both of which resurfaced on Tattoo You – while others were unfinished until now. The outtakes get refurbished with guitar overdubs and Mick’s new vocals. It’s the ultimate version of the album that invented the Stones we’ve known ever since: mean, vital, gloriously unrepentant. Some Girls (The Rolling Stones song). Some Girls" is the title track of English rock and roll band the Rolling Stone's 1978 album Some Girls. It marked the third time a song on one of the band's albums also served as the album's title. Like "Under My Thumb", "Brown Sugar", and "Star Star", the lyrics to "Some Girls" created controversy because of the way it depicted women.

The Rolling Stones have outlived and out-rocked so many artists that they exist in a place where they and their music defy time itself. It hardly matters that they haven’t put out a great start-to-finish album in decades. In fact, their last truly perfect LP, Some Girls, came out 40 years ago on June 9, 1978. Yes, 1981’s Tattoo You could be considered a classic too, but it’s essentially a collection of outtakes, so it’s not quite on the same level.

If Some Girls isn’t the best Rolling Stones album-and sure, it’s not-it’s surely the most fascinating in terms of the band’s history and development.

By 1978, both punk and disco had swept the group off the front pages, and Some Girls was their fiery response to the younger generation. Opening with the disco-blues thump of "Miss You," Some Girls is a tough, focused, and exciting record, full of more hooks and energy than any Stones record since Exile on Main St. Even though the Stones make disco their own, they never quite take punk on their own ground. Instead, their rockers sound harder and nastier than they have in years.

I have to laugh on occasion. People pay stupid money for a digital pressing on colored vinyl. Instead they could pay far less for an original analog pressing from, say, the Netherlands on orange vinyl. I just don't get it. One is highly overpriced and one is highly underpriced. You figure out which is which.
