I'm a big admirer of Charles Mackerras and am disappointed to see some good playing done by him and the Prague Radio Symphony simply negated by some of the worst recorded sonics I've heard. The disc covers two Bohuslav Martinu compositions, the neo-baroque Double Concerto (1938) and the pictorial Fra Angelico Frescos (1955), which strike me as some of the better compositions written by the prolific Martinu.
