Description

Journey To The Sun. Лицензиар. The Orchard Music (от лица компании "Sonicturtle Music").

journey to the sun is the seminal ambient album from canadian producer adham shaikh. born out of soundbytes and samples adham recorded on his travels throughout india, this timeless classic is the second release from interchill's global ambient spectrum series. originally released by instinct records in 1996, journey to the sun reflects adham's meanderings and impressions of an ancient civilization on. the brink of modernization.

Adham Shaikh’s Journey to the Sun is a fantastic example of how amazing the fusion of Western electronica and Eastern aesthetics can be when it’s done right. Too many electronic musicians have attempted to capture the Eastern ‘mysticism’ or ‘spiritualism’ in hard-pounding 4/4 trance only to fail miserably and produce nothing but ethno-garbage. Journey to the Sun is not one of these embarrassingly cheesy failures  . Adham Shaikh - Liquid Evolution 16:40. Adham Shaikh Zero G (HQ) 5:45. Journey To The Sun - Adham Shaikh (Full Album) 67:36. Oh if I could just describe the beautiful imaginary landscapes that comes up to my mind when listening to "journey to the sun" or "infinite emanation"! The other longer tracks: "emergence", "liquid evolution" and "zero g" are definately not worse than the others. All of these five mentioned tracks are absolutely stunning! Amazing! Incredible!

Adham Shaikh’s “Journey to the Sun” is a fantastic example of how amazing the fusion of Western electronica and Eastern aesthetics can be when it’s done right. Too many electronic musicians have attempted to capture the Eastern ‘mysticism’ or ‘spiritualism’ in hard-pounding 4/4 trance only to fail miserably and produce nothing but ethno-garbage. “Journey to the Sun” is not one of these embarrassingly cheesy failures. Apparently inspired by a trip through India & to the Himalayas Shaikh himself went on (during which he sourced the samples used in this recording), this CD lives up to its name. Droning Indian sitars, hauntingly melodic bansuri & venu flutes, religious chanting, ethnic percussion (as well as beatscapes), are all layered with excellent synthwork & fx processing. The result is compelling and demands a loud headphone session. Highly recommended!
