Description

Black and Blue is the 13th British and 15th American studio album by the band the Rolling Stones, released in 1976. This album was the first recorded after former guitarist Mick Taylor had quit in December 1974. As he had done the last time the Stones were between second guitarists in 1968, Keith Richards recorded the bulk of the guitar parts himself, though the album recording sessions also served as an audition for Taylor's replacement.

The Stones' thirteenth (British) studio album, Black and Blue is the first recorded without former guitarist Mick Taylor. The image featured the top model Anita Russell, tied up with her legs straddling a reproduction of the album cover, and bore the slogan I’m Black and Blue from the Rolling Stones – and I love it! The poster provoked the wrath of feminists, and, in particular, the Women Against Violence Against Women movement, which succeeded in getting the posters withdrawn.

Black and Blue is the The Rolling Stones' 13th British studio album, and their 15th American studio album. Released in 1976, it was their debut album with Ronnie Wood as the replacement for Mick Taylor. Wood played twelve-string acoustic on "It's Only Rock 'n Roll (But I Like It)" from the It's Only Rock 'n Roll and subsequently appears on half of the Black and Blue album tracks, mostly as backing vocals, with Wayne Perkins and Harvey Mandel playing guitar on the rest of the album.

Yes, the two songs that are undeniable highlights are "Memory Motel" and "Fool to Cry," the album's two ballads and, therefore, the two that had to be written and arranged, not knocked out in the studio; they're also the ones that don't quite make as much sense, though they still work in the context of the record. No, this is all about groove and sound, as the Stones work Ron Wood into their fabric. And the remarkable thing is, apart from "Hand of Fate" and "Crazy Mama," there's little straight-ahead rock & roll here

Black and Blue is an album by The Rolling Stones, released in 1976. It was the band's first studio album released with Ronnie Wood as the replacement for Mick Taylor.

Listen to the Rolling Stones Perform 'Fool to Cry'. At first, the plan was to rebound quickly and put out a new album. The Stones returned at the end of 1974 to the same Munich studio where It's Only Rock 'N Roll was recorded to lay down some tracks. At the start of 1975, they were in the Netherlands recording more. But they were still reeling from Mick Taylor's abrupt departure in December 1974 and hadn't decided on a replacement guitarist yet (Jeff Beck, Peter Frampton and Steve Marriott were all considered; the job eventually went to Ronnie Wood). On April 23, 1976, nearly a year and a half after work first started on the record, Black and Blue was released. It wasn't quite what fans were used to.

Turn Blue, the Black Keys‘ eighth studio album, opens with seven minutes of slow burn and eccentric fury. Weight of Love is the sort of uproar most bands would save for a big finish. But the Keys – singer-guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney – and their co-producer Brian Burton, . Danger Mouse, show their nerve upfront in a mounting tension of acoustic guitar and painted-desert ambience, cut open by Auerbach’s machete-treble twang and battered by Carney’s unhurried John Bonham-like rolls. When Auerbach finally gets to the chorus, he sings it as high-pitched warning ( Don’t. But the Keys are still a two-man band.
