Masters of the Universe. Studio album by Binary Star. Masters of the Universe is the second and final studio album from American hip hop duo Binary Star (Senim Silla & One Be Lo). The release is a remixed and rearranged version of their 1999 debut Waterworld Masters of the Universe was re-released on July 25, 2006 by Infinite Rhythm Network.

Binary Star switched to Subterraneous Records and released Masters of the Universe. This album was essentially a remixed version of Waterworld, but garnered more attention, selling 20,000 copies. However, the pair were not getting along particularly well, and, citing creative differences, Binary Star was disbanded. They reunited briefly in 2002, doing a concert together at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont, but they did not record any new material. Not quite a good enough replacement for the original pressing though, hard to get the head around taking arguably the best verse on the album in Senim's on 'Slang Blade' and replacing it with a new one from One Be Lo, no need to mess with perfection. What It's All About' stuck between 'Indy 500' and 'Evolution of Man' makes no sense either, they've even kept the fade out from 'Indy 500' in 'Evolution of Man' which makes it even more out of place.

The two rappers from Pontiac, Michigan met in 1993. The two were inseparable, and eventually robbed a local pizza parlor together in May 1994. First heard this album almost 11 years ago, and it's still fresh as fuck. This album is absolutely timeless, and needs to be put down as one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. 3 years ago. just took a bus 700 miles to see binary star and hieroglyphics. was worth it. 10/10 would sit in a greyhound terminal on a 13 hour delay again.

A very underappreciated underground hip-hop album with some really cool rhymes and a lot of enjoyable beats. The only real issue is the album is a little too long and drags in places without really keeping the long album format worth sticking with all the way through.
