Features Song Lyrics for DC Talk's Welcome to the Freakshow album.
Welcome to the Freak Show is the name of a live audio and video recording by DC Talk. Chronicling the Jesus Freak Tour in the spring of 1996, they were released separately two months apart in 1997 on CD and VHS, respectively. A DVD version was later released in 2003. Each version has been certified gold by the RIAA (audio for 500,000 units and video for 50,000 units sold).
Sound - 9 Being a live album, one often tends to listen with the preconception that the singing is bad, the guitars are out of tune, the acoustics are shocking, and the crowd is annoying. When you put this album in your CD player, hang those preconceptions, they do not apply to this album. Being three of the best singers in CCM, and the most succesful religious band ever, DC Talk do not allow mistakes such as poor quality of sound to feature in any of their music. Overall Impression - 9 One of the best sounding live albums you'll here, and even if you do not like the style of music, you can't not take your hat off to the boys from DC Talk for providing an album as good as any recorded, and in my opinion better. My only concern with the album is that it was not longer: a second CD from another tour, or another location on the Welcome To The Freakshow tour would not have gone amiss.
