The Carrier was an American melodic hardcore band from Boston, formed in 2006. In 2006, the band self-released their debut demo whom they recorded with Jay Maas at the Getaway Group Studios. After a year of playing shows, in the summer of 2007 the band teamed up with Words of War Records to release a self-titled 7". In the winter of 2007, the band released its first full-length record entitled "One Year Later" on Rock Vegas Records.

The autumnal Carrier was inspired by the passing of guitarist Christopher Reimer, who joined Dodos for a brief period between his departure from Women and his death at the age of 26 in 2012. Long hasn’t become a wordier or more poetic lyricist, in fact, Carrier is Dodos’ most plainspoken album. There seems to be a first thought, best thought approach as he asks cosmic, open-ended questions that strike to the heart of the human experience or sensible, legible fragments that can fleshed out over equally inquisitive music.

The new album, The Carrier, incorporates deep, slow vocals with a familiar electronic, sitar sound plucking to accompany it. One of the songs on the seven track album, Only One, immediately attracted my attention. I can't decide what grips me the most: the poetic lyrics, the depthless vocals, or the eccentric middle eastern flare that grants the song a sense of genuine innovation that all EDM fans- including and especially myself- can bite into.
