Free for All is a jazz album by Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers released on Blue Note. Recorded in February 1964, it was released the following year. It was originally titled "Free Fall".

Celebration Hanging Out Imagination TGIF. Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers, Art Blakey. Free for All is a high point in drummer Art Blakey's enormous catalog. Shorter's title track is one of the finest moments in the Jazz Messengers' history. In the eight minutes of "Free for All," an emotional apex is reached that skirts the edge of free bop without losing Blakey's rhythmic.

Recorded at the Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey on February 10, 1964. Other Versions (5 of 28) View All. Cat.
