Darkstar are an electronic music duo. Since 2007, they have released music on Hyperdub, Warp and 2010 Records. James Young & Aiden Whalley began making music together in London in 2007(?), releasing their first compositions "Dead 2 Me" & "Break" under the name Darkstar on their own label - 2010 Records. This release was followed later the same year by "Lilyliver/Out of Touch" and "Memories (Remix)/Sayter" a split single with London producer Zomby, issued on the MG77 label.

British electronic trio Darkstar recently revealed plans to release a pair of remix EPs featuring new versions of tracks from their excellent 2013 album News From Nowhere. To mark the release of the first 12″, they’re giving away their ‘Young Hearts’ remix as a free download, which you can grab below. The first of the EPs is out on Warp next Monday, October 14. Titled 01484, a reference to the dialling code for the area of northern England where they recorded the album, it features their own remixes of album tracks ‘Young Hearts’ and ‘Armonica’, plus German producer Motor City Drum Ensemble’s.
