Wild West shows: Buffalo Bill’s Wild West. By Paul Fees, Former Curator Buffalo Bill Museum. William F. Buffalo Bill Cody opened Buffalo Bill’s Wild West show on May 19, 1883 at Omaha, Nebraska. Annie Oakley broke ground when she and her husband and manager, Frank Butler, joined Buffalo Bill early in 1885. George Fenton (born George Howe in London October 19, 1950) and later on attended St Edward's School in Oxford. The British composer best known for his work writing film scores and music for television such as for the BBC series "The Blue Planet" and "Planet Earth". He also composed the score for "Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show" - a dinner show recreating the experience of the famous world traveling show of Buffalo Bill.

Famous lawmen such as Wild Bill Hickok and Wyatt Earp wore low-crowned hats because giant cowboy hats would have made them easy targets for adversaries. The ten-gallon hat got its name from the Spanish word Galón, not because it could hold 10 gallons of water. Galón means braid, and many Spanish hats in era had braids on them. John Stetson’s classic cowboy hat was possibly inspired by the Spanish-derived hats he encountered after he moved to the West. He created the iconic headwear, which features a crease in the middle of a high crown with a dent on each side, allowing the wearer to remove it by the crown instead of the brim.
