Album Walk Away Renée/Pretty Ballerina. I Haven't Got the Nerve Lyrics. I (I) haven't got the nerve I (I) haven't got the nerve. To tell you our love is over And to say I'm through with you I can't take much more of you, girl You make all my days so blue. Leave me lonely and forget me Days of may will soon be gone Girl, I know you never loved me It won't hurt to see me gone. 9. Shadows Breaking Over My Head. 10. I Haven't Got the Nerve.
Walk Away Renée/Pretty Ballerina is the debut studio album by the American baroque pop band the Left Banke, released in February 1967. Named after its two hit singles, "Walk Away Renée" and "Pretty Ballerina", it peaked at number 67 on the Billboard Albums chart. Although the album was not widely popular upon its initial release, and fell into relative obscurity for a time, it is now viewed as a definitive example of baroque pop music.

Walk Away Renée (7", Single, Mono). Now, there’s a caveat which tosses much into the air regarding timeline and who influenced whom, with Walk Away Renee originally being released in 1966 with I Haven’t Got The Nerve on the flip side. The single was released for a second time here in the States in 1967, which is the version most people know, with Pretty Ballerina as the B-Side. though I’ll keep my picture sleeve Import version, as I was in Europe in 1966 for the original airing

Michael Brown (keyboards) Steve Martin (lead vocals) George Cameron (vocals, drums) Tom Finn (vocals, bass) Richard Brand (guitar). Michael Lookofsky (aka Michael Brown) began his professional musical career working as a keyboard player and assistant at his father's New York based World United studios. Labeled 'baroque' by the press (thanks to their use of harpsichords and classical influenced string arrangements), the album made for one of the year's freshest and most enjoyable debuts. Elsewhere, the feedback propelled 'Lazy Day' stood as the collection's oddest offering. Inexplicably, in spite of two top-20 singles, the set could do no better than 67. While the rise of folk-rock acts like the Byrds and the Lovin' Spoonful brought 12-string guitars and autoharps into the rock & roll vocabulary, and the Beatles' "Yesterday" and "Eleanor Rigby" opened the door for a more artful use of strings in pop music, the Left Banke pioneered something new with their debut single, 1967's "Walk Away Renee," which incorporated . Walk Away Renée/Pretty Ballerina is hardly unusual for a rock album of the era in that most of the tracks were dominated by session musicians rather than actual bandmembers, and in many respects, this album was a triumph for the producers and arrangers (among them Steve Jerome and John Abbott, along with Lookofsky) as much as the band, but they also gave.
