Vorleben (a German word that translates as "past" or "past life" depending on its usage) provides an excellent introduction to the solo work of O'Halloran, as it's a 32-minute best-of with some new pieces included. It adds exponentially to the flavor in the studio solo records emotionally, without ever becoming maudlin or manipulative.

My vinyl copy has pressing issues on the A side and there is a warp in the vinyl as well. This label needs to up their game with the pressings. I've had a few issues with their vinyl releases. Dustin O'Halloran - Vorleben.

Dustin J. O'Halloran (born September 8, 1971) is an American pianist and composer. O'Halloran composes scores for film and TV, and forms half of the collaboration A Winged Victory for the Sullen. O'Halloran was born in Phoenix, Arizona, and spent most of his childhood in Hawaii and Los Angeles. While studying art at Santa Monica College, he met singer Sara Lov, with whom he founded indie rock band Dévics in 1998

O’Halloran’s also released two further solo collections, including the live recording, Vorleben (2011), as well as winning further fans – and selling out prestigious seated theatres – with A Winged Victory For The Sullen, whose two albums (released by Erased Tapes in Europe and Kranky in the USA) showcase Halloran’s trademark, delicate melodies awash in his colleague Adam Wiltzie’s ambient atmospherics.
